Leveraged Funding (Non-Checkoff):
$ 10.3 million – Investigators on this project were involved in the USDA-NIFA (oomycete) project. We propose to leverage a portion of that $9.5 million to help with diagnostic and metagenomic tools used in this project. A separate NCSRP project complements this USB project. NCSRP funds a project ~ $269,501/year for the next three years.

Information And Results
Project Deliverables

- Reports documenting the effect of environmental conditions on the aggressiveness of seedling pathogens
- Identification of field conditions (moisture, temperature and chemical properties) that favor seedling diseases
- Identification of fungal and oomycete species associated with iron chlorosis
- Reports documenting the effect of pH on the interaction of pathogens
- Diagnostic tools that will aid in diagnosing problem fields and aid other research endeavors by public and private researchers
- Development of management strategies and to assess current production practices as they relate to seedling diseases
- Development of improved extension information on seedling blights in print, web, and video formats

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
