With glyphosate resistance, a continuing problem in growing soybeans is being able to control pigweed in soybean fields. Weather conditions, product availability, and timeliness are all gigantic hurdles that have a large effect on the control of many weeds.
Another goal is to look at other hard to control weeds which could benefit from this project as well. Sicklepod and Morninglory spp. are a couple of other problem weeds that are traditionally hard to kill in soybean production fields. In a conventional soybean program, Metribuzin traditionally has been a big weapon on problem broadleaves.
