Average soybean yield increases in Michigan have not kept pace with yield increases for other major crops such as corn and wheat. The SMaRT (soybean management and research technology) program was initiated to continue and expand the research and educational activities conducted under the Soybean 2010 project with the goal of increasing Michigan soybean yields and profitability.

The products to be evaluated and/or demonstrated will include new seed treatments, soybean cyst nematode resistant varieties, and starter fertilizers containing sulfur, Zn, MN, Cu and Mo. Project Deliverables

Conduct on-farm research projects evaluating products and management practices and report results to Michigan soybean farmers.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years.
