Brief Project Summary:

A real-time PCR (DNA) assay which allows us to quantify the amount of SDS fungus in soil, plant and nematode samples has been developed which will allow for studying the interaction between SDS and SCN and to rapidly identify fields with SDS. The assay is also very useful as a diagnostic tool to confirm the diagnosis of SDS symptomatic plants. The researcher will offer this service to industry and growers to assist in identifying and promoting knowledge with regards to SDS biology and management.

Project Deliverables

1. Information to growers on the distribution of SDS in Michigan.
