The researchers are involved in developing soybeans with value-added traits that are desired by the feed trade. These new soybean cultivars have improved metabolizable energy and amino acid digestibility, reduced levels of anti-nutritional factors and other traits desired by animal, poultry and aquaculture feed formulators. The funding will be used to develop and evaluate additional experimental soybean varieties with 15-20% more protein, reduced phytate phosphorus, modified fatty acids (lower saturated fatty acids and higher oleic omega 3 fatty acids), lower levels of lectins, and lower levels of trypsin inhibitor.
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
