Brief Project Summary:

This project will characterize fungal viruses identified in TN-14, an isolate of Arkansas fungus-18 (ARF-18), provisionally named Brachyphoris riggsii (Bradshaw, Kirkpatrick and Bluhm, unpublished), a biocontrol agent for the soybean cyst nematode (SCN). Five other fungal species with nematicidal properties will also be tested for viruses. Virus effect on host physiology will be determined. This will make commercialization of these potent biocontrol agents feasible.
