This study involves trying to improve the sampling of the invasive bean plataspid (Megacopta cribraria) in South Carolina soybeans. The researchers will compare sweep net, beat cloth and whole plant sampling for the bean plataspid in soybeans. Of special interest is determining sample size needed for adequate estimates of insect densities and sampling plans based on current economic injury levels.
