Hundreds of thousands of acres of production farm land in Arkansas have shifted to soybean from other crops in recent years. With this crop shift comes the threat of new diseases and stresses. The researchers involved in this project will determine the distribution of Neocosmospora Rot and Black Root Rot and other newly developing diseases throughout the production areas of Arkansas. They will also evaluate crop management recommendation and the economic impact of newly emerging pathogens (Neocosmospora and Theilaviopsis) upon Arkansas early soybean production system.
