Considerable research exists that shows MN from diverse sources binds to glyphosate which acts as a chelate resulting in reduced weed control (notably velvet leaf) where soils are deficient in MN. There are water conditioners and/or water conditioners in marketed foliar MN fertilizers purported to overcome this challenge. It is not understood if all combinations work as suggested; nor whether large amounts of glyphosate added to the spray solution can overcome the activity loss; or whether the added glyphosate merely binds more MN resulting in not alleviating the MN deficiency.
