Increasing soybean yield is one of the most important goals of any soybean breeding program. The maximum yield potential of a soybean variety is determined by its genetics. In a previous MSPC project, Dr. Wangs team examined the genetic architecture of soybean yield in an ex-tensive genome-wide association study by genotyping 1,237 soybean varieties and breeding lines using 52,041 SNP DNA markers. They identified 52 loci significantly associated with yield. By analyzing the allele effect of every locus, they identified the favorable allele of every locus that will increase soybean yield, and determined the constitution of the favorable alleles for every one of the 1,237 soybean varieties...
Further development of high yielding soybean varieties for Michigan growing conditions.
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
