Earlier research funded by the soybean checkoff evaluated the effect of commercially available soil applied bio-control products to control white mold. All products were to target the sclerotia of the pathogen in the soil. The bio-product Contans?WG fully controlled apothecial germination in the greenhouse. Field plot results also showed that Contans?WG had the best effect on reducing disease incidence with the effect being more effective if fall applied. With better performance (when compared to other bio-control products) of Contans?WG, we have confidence in now performing on-farm field scale tests.
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
