Brief Project Summary:

The focus of this proposal is to launch the next generation of applied farm research success using contemporary technology, tools and communication networks. Such an effort should be a co-learning and discovery process supported by a united effort among the partners aforementioned. We must embrace this new era of data discovery, debate and decision-making that is critical to helping our growers remain competitive and leaders in soybean production.

Project Deliverables

1) leveraging precision agriculture technologies to better collect and manage research data;
2) continuing to build collaborations between UNL research faculty and Nebraska producers whereby meaningful research is conducted (one example of this is the success of the 2015 and 2016 partnership with Dr. Loren Giesler looking at ILeVO for SDS);
3) establishing a collaboration among NSB, NCB, NCGA, private industry professionals and UNL Extension that will move Nebraska on-farm research to new horizons;
4) developing a robust network of producer co-learners that will ultimately be excellent collaborators and partners in
future endeavors;
5) continuing to develop new tools to facilitate research and disseminate results using a wide spectrum of technologies including website tools, further mobile app development and integration, internal data management structures, and others.
