1. Determine the optimum MG in terms of yield and seed quality, for any given planting date, from our southern-most to our northern-most locations.
2. Build a data base that can be used to describe crop development for cultivars from MGs 3 through 6, planted from 30 to 39oN with planting dates extending from March through June.
3. Characterize and define the interaction between photo period and temperature for crop development for accurate predictions of soybean growth stages and for yield.
4. Apply crop models across the Mid-South using long-term weather data for risk assessment of yield and seed quality using different MGs and planting dates.
