Brief Project Summary:

Based on non-GMO premiums paid to the grower and the advent of glyphosate resistant weeds, recent years have seen a gradual shift to more non-GMO soybean acreage in Michigan. In fact, it is reported a higher percentage of non-GMO soybeans are planted in Michigan than in any other mid-western state. Weed control remains the primary challenge to non-GMO soybean production. With a known effective non-GMO weed control system, producers may decide on non-GMO production offering additional profit opportunities and reducing the likeliness of specific herbicide resistance weed species.
