SCN and SDS are two major pathogens of soybean. Both diseases are widespread in soybean producing areas and appear recalcitrant to available control measures. Annual yield losses in the northern U.S. attributed to the cumulative effect of the two pathogens are estimated at 145 million bushels. The interaction between the two has been reported to exacerbate the damage caused by either pathogen alone. This could be due to synergism between the two pathogens. Co-inoculating soybean plants with SDS and SCN in a greenhouse setup resulted in a significant increase in SDS symptoms. Symptoms were observed even when a non-aggressive strain (normally does not produce symptoms) of Fusarium virguliforme,...
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
