The central goal of this project is to develop new genetic resources and tools that can accelerate the discovery and exploitation of untapped genes from wild soybean to develop higher yielding soybean cultivars. Work planned for year 2 includes:1) Planting the (G. max X G. soja) population to develop F6:7 population in field. We will also investigate phenotypes of the population in the field. This population will be further developed into a F7:8 population in winter nursery, as a final RIL population for gene discovery and mapping. 2) Developing about 20,000 M2 fast neutron mutant lines, and phenotype the lines in the field for important agronomic traits and domestication traits....
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
