The objective of the checkoff project is to simultaneously evaluate the effects of alternative wheat-residue management practices [i.e., wheat-residue level (high and low, achieved with differential N fertilization), residue burning (burning and non-burning), and tillage (conventional and no-tillage)] and water management (irrigated and dryland) on crop production, economic viability, water conservation, and soil quality.
