Brief Project Summary:

Double crop soybean production accounts for about one third of the soybean acreage in Arkansas. Double crop soybean production, despite the increased economic returns, does have its potential risks. The shortened season associated with double crop soybeans intensifies the effect of any stress on the crop. These stresses often result in reduced plant development; increased insect, disease, and weed problems; and a decline in yield potential.

The goals of this project involving several research groups are to increase productivity and profitability of the double crop soybean production system by evaluating agronomic management (row spacing, population density, planting dates, maturity...
