Since host plant resistance to soybean rust has not yet been employed as a major control method, probably due to a lack of known source for stable and strong resistance, this project is long-term in nature. With the, now established, two rust screening nurseries in China, previously identified possible resistant PI's along with lines from different crossing material can now be screened effectively at both the China soybean rust nursery as well as in cooperation with the University of Georgia.
