Michigan soybean growers have increasingly expressed interest in a coordinated effort to test new management opportunities on a replicated, field scale, strip trial basis. In 2008 a program was initiated called Strip Testing at Regional Sites (STARS) designed to test various soybean management options.

In 2008 they agreed to test a foliar fungicide spray at the R3 stage using standardized protocol and multiple cooperators to obtain comparisons across environments.
