Since 2003, soybeans grown in Kentucky have been commonly sprayed with strobilurin-based fungicides, primarily to obtain general "health plant" benefits, but occasionally to control common foliar fungal diseases, such as brown spot and frogeye leaf spot. The first case of strobilurim-resistant frogeye leaf spot was reported in Tennessee during the summer of 2010. In October, resistant frogeye leaf spot was detected in 3 of 13 samples collected from Princeton, Caldwell County, Kentucky.
