This project will obtain Kentucky specific on the annual immigration, seasonal activity and relative abundance of the invasive pest soybean aphid, and other aphids important to Kentucky field crops. Two suction traps will be located in Kentucky to monitor aphid activity.
The suction trap data will be complied into a database of aphid species, their relative numbers, as well as the timing and duration of flights. This information will help understand when the risk for aphid infection/movement is elevated or decreased.
