Root-lesion nematode (Pratylenchus spp.) is widely distributed in the U.S. and has wide host ranges, and is considered as one of aggressive nematodes on soybean and can cause significant yield suppression. A study recently conducted in Wisconsin showed that soybean was a good host for reproduction of the root-lesion nematode Pratylenchus penetrans. A new species P. alleni detected in Canada in a soybean field caused yield reductions of 38% to 54% in heavily affected plants. In 2015 and 2016, six soil samples were collected from a soybean field in Richland County, North Dakota.
