Soybean sample preparation will be conducted within the first month of the project using the commercially available seeds. The preliminary experiments on the anti-inflammatory activity and composition of major chemicals will be performed within the first quarter of the project period. If promising candidate chemical is identified at this point, we will apply for the second year project to assess chemical diversity of seeds aiming to improve the health benefits of soybean. The rest of chemical and inflammatory parameters will continue through the second quarter of the project. The later half of the project duration will be used for the data analysis to identify the candidate chemicals and tests for their activities for the Objective 3.
