This research program brings together a multidisciplinary approach for the creation and evaluation of novel input and output traits in soybean. These include a gene stack combination to enhance photosynthetic capacity, which we are targeting specifically during reproduction stages under both stress and non-stress environments, and a unique genetic design for the production of a value enhanced soybean oil. Importantly, this program translates the novel soybean created from greenhouse to field environments, to down-stream end-use characterizations as exemplified by current and past traits developed under this program including high oleic acid soybean (biodiesel) and high omega-3 soybean oils...
