Brief Project Summary:

The primary goal is to set the stage for an impactful collaborative initiative among the NCB, NCGA, NSB and UNL Extension to launch the next generation of applied farm research success using contemporary technology, tools and learning networks. Rapidly evolving precision agriculture technologies offer great opportunity to elevate on-farm research discovery and data analysis capacity. Emerging interest in co-learning environments or professional learning networks, both in person and online warrant evolving the way we engage growers to remain connected and relevant-an intergenerational approach to moving the soybean (and corn) industry forward.

Project Deliverables

1) leveraging precision agriculture technologies to establish, harvest and manage data;
2) building a professional learning network to enhance discovery dialogue and outreach;
3) establishing a collaboration among NSB, NCB, NCGA, private industry professionals and UNL Extension that will move Nebraska on-farm research to new horizons in the future;
4) developing a robust network of producer co-learners that will ultimately be excellent collaborators and partners in future endeavors; and
5) facilitate widespread dissemination of results using a spectrum of communication through both online networks and other venues.

Producers are hands-on, experiential learners. On-farm research serves as one of the highest levels of learning experiences in transformational learning. It is a process whereby cooperating producers and program partners are engaged year-round and over time in search of solutions, progress and synergies that move the agricultural industry forward.

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
