Expected Outputs/Deliverables:

Objectives:

(1) Use the sentinel plot disease-monitoring program to alert farmers of early detection of yield-reducing foliar diseases.

Growers will adjust that their fungicide management program based on real-time information provided by the monitorng network in order to protect or increase yields and be more profitable. Impact of the program will be determined on a state-by-state basis at end of season.
(2) Use the program to detect the location of fungicide-resistant strains of frog eye leaf spot, Cercospora leaf blight and aerial web blight.

Results will be shared with farmers prior to 2017 growing season to enable them to use fungicides more effectively depending on the complexity of the disease situation in their area.

(3) Expand the program to include mapping of all significant plant diseases of soybean by county location.

This will be the first step in the development of a National soybean disease database that will be used to improve disease management programs for soybean farmers in the U.S.

(4) Use the program to enable farmers to use fungicides more effectively depending on the complexity of the disease situation in their region.

Real-time disease alerts will allow farmers to adjust their fungicide program in order to protect or increase yields. Results from disease-resisyance monitoring and mapping will be shared with farmers prior to 2017 growing season and beyond to enable them to use fungicides more effectively depending on the complexity of the disease situation in their area.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years.
