Brief Project Summary:

This project aims to identify stable trends in weather conditions that are linked to soybean yield and environmental outcomes. This weather knowledge can inform adjustments to existing practices and prioritize new practices that could enhance soybean yield, environmental stewardship and farm profitability. The goal of the project is to help famers make improved weather-informed, field-level decisions. It aims to identify linkages between weather and management practices at the field level for soybean production and trends in production relevant weather indices, develop understanding of how weather impacts the effectiveness of cover crops for nitrogen reduction and develop two-way dialogue between climatologists and the soybean industry and farmers.
