Update:
The Soybean Checkoff-funded Research project is completed.
• In the last quarterly report (March 15, 2013), it was reported that on October 1, 2012, the soybean checkoff was funding a total of 744 research projects/activities with a checkoff investment of sixty-three million dollars. The Soybean Checkoff-funded Research Database provides a listing of checkoff investments in projects targeting increasing soybean yields and protecting yields; expanding soybean utilization; improving soybean composition; and providing support for research and educational programs.
• The Database has been entered on the www.soybeancheckoffresearch.org Website. The Website contains a listing of soybean checkoff projects funded during the past four years.?
• Financial invoices submitted to the USB project manager indicate the project will be under budget.
• The webmaster reports the stats for the www.soybeancheckoffresearch.org website for the period January 1, 2013 to May 31, 2013 as follows:?

Comment: We continue to receive very positive comments on the value of the database in providing information on the soybean research investment. Our contacts are impressed with the scope and coverage of the projects being supported in part by the soybean checkoff.
The number of users reported by the webmaster could be easily improved with a promotional program that highlights the existence of the soybean checkoff research database. The program does not have to be expensive; just a simple press release could result in several agricultural-based news organizations publicizing the website’s availability.

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
