This project plans to acquire critical knowledge about the SCN infection process and the associated modification in the DNA and DNA-associated proteins of soybean in susceptible and resistant interactions. Research seeks to determine function characteristics of soybean genes that induce biochemical modifications in the nematode feeding site, to identify major soybean genes controlling SCN infection and to compare DNA methylation in response to SCN infection during susceptible and resistant interactions using near-isogenic soybean lines.
