Brief Project Summary:

This project will continue to generate transgenic soybean hairy roots over-expressing SCN genes-of-interest and employ an optimized SCN assay system to evaluate the transgenic hairy roots for conferring resistance to SCN. Research will examine the association of plant defense signaling networks in resistance response to SCN and discover candidate defense genes against SCN in the sequenced soybean genome using comparative genomics and bioinformatics. In addition, researchers hope to identify SCN-related defense metabolites through metabolic analysis.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
