This project supports the Extension IPM educational and applied research efforts. Funding is requested for four Soybean Scout Schools that will be held in primary soybean production areas of Tennessee. Funding is also requested for several continuing research initiatives. The group will continue to validate new and existing treatment thresholds for three-cornered alfalfa hopper and stink bugs in comparison to infested soybeans or soybean treated on a schedule at maturities R3 and R5. We will also collect an additional year of data on the potential effects of three-cornered alfalfa hopper girdling/lodging on yield.
