Soybean growers need to increase yield in fields with heavy clay and low pH soils. One of the most important methods of increasing the yield on these problem soils is to choose cultivars that can recover from stunting, due to water-saturated conditions. While it is true that excessive moisture does not occur every year, research has shown that cultivars can be identified that perform under normal rainfall and yield well during a year of above-precipitation.
