The project employs state of the art molecular tools to identify chromosal locations of novel oil and protein genes in wild soybean, and determines the agronomic impact of the novel genes in field experiments. As part of the efforts aimed at encouraging young plant breeders in the industry, the project includes a stipend for a Masters level graduate researcher.
