The objective in this proposal is to evaluate the effect of plant population on evapotranspiration, transpiration, crop coefficients, yield and water-use efficiency under deficit irrigation. This project will help producers, irrigation managers and crop consultants make better recommendations on plant populations and irrigation strategies that can increase profitability in soybean production, reduce the amount of irrigation water used in soybean production, reduce nutrient losses through leaching, and protect ground water from contamination. These goals are critical to the long-term viability of the Nebraska economy because soybean production is second to corn as the most important economic...
Updated recommendations on soybean plant populations and irrigation strategies.
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
