Traditional methods for meeting the plant food needs of soybeans have been through taking a soil test and fertilizing according to results. With fertilizer nutrients at increased costs, which have made soybeans more expensive to produce, several foliar fertilizer programs have appeared on the market. Foliar fertilization of any crop, also known as foliar feeding, is an efficient method of applying plant nutrients at lower costs. Some soybean foliar fertilizer programs are being promoted as the only fertilizer program needed to meet the grain yield potential of a soil type while others suggest the foliar fertilizer should be used in combination with a soil test recommended program.
