Kansas soils contain significant quantities of phosphorus, but it is in unavailable or slowly available forms. Project objectives include: quantifying the response of soybeans to phosphorus at varying soil test levels, commonly referred to as soil test correlation and calibration; determining what soil test levels soybeans respond to direct fertilization as opposed to residual fertility or multi-year rotational fertilization; determining if the use of surface band-applied starter fertilizer will enhance soybean yield when used alone or in combination with broadcast applications of phosphorus fertilizer; and examining the potential for response of soybeans to sulfur, zinc, manganese, iron and boron and the effectiveness of soil tests at predicting response.Key Benefactors: farmers, agronomists, ag retailers, extension specialists
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
