An effective extension program in soybean production and cropping systems is necessary for crop advisors and producers to stay abreast of rapidly changing soybean production technology and increasing amounts of information.

Project Deliverables

Poster at Kansas Soybean Expo dealing with interaction of soybean yield enhancing products and row spacing. Radio interview on January 11 dealing with potential soybean seed quality issues following the 2012 drought. Presented on-farm soybean seeding rate comparisons to KARTA as an example of the power of cooperative on-farm research. January 18. Presented "Soybean Insect Management" at the NW MO CCA Update in St. Joseph, MO on January 22, standing in for Jeff Whitworth. Attended the Commodity Classic in Kissimmee Florida, Feb 28-March 2, taking in selected soybean sessions as well as a planning session with cooperators in the USB soybean production study and a session with Soybean Extension Agronomists from across the country to compare notes about issues of interest for soybean production. Results from 2012 were presented in Q3 report. Locations have been identified for 2013 experiments. Drill modifications have been completed to facilitate improved plot establishment for row spacing study.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years.
