This project involves coordinating the On-Farm Network, which works with more than 450 soybean and corn growers in Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Missouri, who conduct a wide variety of on-farm research studies.
The focus is on using precision ag technologies, including GPS, aerial imagery, and combine yield monitors, to determine the economic potential of specific crop production practices, such as using fertilizers, fungicides, insecticides, pest resistant hybrids or varieties, tillage or other soil management practices, etc. To do this, growers use guided stalk nitrate testing and alternating replicated strips across their field(s) to compare current practices and products...
