Brief Project Summary:

The goal of this research project is to improve grower understanding of the potential to manage the soybean aphid with soybean varieties that resistant aphids. The availability of genes that provide partial protection against aphids is desirable, however, we know that this gene (Rag1) will reduce aphid numbers on a soybean plant, but will not keep the plant aphid free. Therefore, the goal of this project is to investigate whether adding another gene (Rag2) to the soybean line will effectively control the soybean aphid.
