In recent years, weed populations expressing resistance to glyphosate and other herbicides have become more wide spread in soybean production systems and in some cases very difficult to manage in this system in Indiana. Common waterhemp, giant ragweed, horseweed, and morning glories are commonly found weeds in soybean production systems of Indiana. These weeds are a severe problem in many areas when they are not properly controlled. No-till production systems and the repeated use of the same or similar herbicides (glyphosate) have led to herbicide resistance in these weed species.
