Dimilin is an inexpensive insect growth regulator which at 2 oz/acre (about $2.00) has provided effective control of velvet bean caterpillar on soybeans and provided suppression of other caterpillar pests. Dimilin at 4 oz,/ac. provided effective control of soybean loopers at Prattville in 2009. Dimilin has also been found to be less damaging to beneficial insect populations than some classes of chemicals.
