The purpose of this project is to complete the development and release of Sclerotinia stem rot resistant soybean breeding lines that also have resistance to other major diseases of the North Central Region. Advanced breeding lines with resistance to Sclerotinia stem rot will undergo final selection for physiological resistance in the greenhouse. Additional inoculation using multiple isolates of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum in addition to other pathogens will be conducted during selection. The best candidates will also be planted in the field to identify breeding lines with the best agronomic traits and field resistance to the major diseases of soybean in the north central region.
The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
