Project Deliverables

• Dissemination of findings via oral and/or poster presentations at state, regional and national agronomy meetings, local grower meetings, and in extension bulletins, peer-reviewed journal articles, popular press articles, and web-based media outlets. A cost benefit analysis will be used in publications and media outlets to help growers understand the improved profitability with IWM practices.
• A more user friendly CHS web-based program will be developed and made available for growers and advisors to develop their own punch plans. Training workshops on the programs use will be conducted.
• A regional irrigation conference will be developed and conducted annually. This workshop will include several key in-depth training opportunities for furrow irrigation such as how to use CHS programs, soil moisture sensors, irrigation scheduling, irrigation termination, and center pivot operation and maintenance training. Specifically collaborators in Texas will be contracted to bring their vast experience to the southern region, so southern region growers with center pivot system can improve their irrigation practices also. Another major focus of the conference will be on irrigation pump maintenance and operation.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years.
