Project Deliverables

The goal of this project is to develop superior soybean varieties possessing low oligosaccharides without comprising other exiting good traits such as protein and oil yields. There are several specific milestones we will achieve: 1) design and construct transformation vectors that will not only enable to obtain single-copy and marker-free transgenic soybean but also reduce soybean oligosaccharides efficiently, 2) develop 40 transgenic soybean plants using the above constructs and select plant lines displaying the above desirable traits, 3) propagate sufficient seeds of 1-2 desirable soybean lines for processing, animal feeding study. Success in this project can be measured by the degree to which these 3 milestones are achieved.

Final Project Results

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years. And financial information after seven years. All pertinent information is in the final report or if you want more information, please contact the project lead at your state soybean organization or principal investigator listed on the project.
