Brief Project Summary:

The project objective is to collect baseline data and use the metrics provided by the Field to Market Fieldprint Calculator to compare traditional management strategies to newly adopted strategies, with the overall goal of increasing the sustainability of soybean production, as well as public awareness in Tennessee. The calculator provides producers with general information on what management strategies are most likely to improve, or lessen, their impact, or "field print" on energy use, climate impact, soil loss and water use. The management practices analyzed include fertilizer application, irrigation, cover crops and tillage systems. Analysis considers economics of management decisions presents that information alongside sustainability metrics to further support adoptions.

The United Soybean Research Retention policy will display final reports with the project once completed but working files will be purged after three years.
