Weed control is a continual issue facing soybean producers in Oklahoma. With the commercialization of Roundup Ready (glyphosate-resistant) soybean varieties in the mid-1990s, weed control was greatly improved and simplified compared with conventional soybean production. As a result of the improved weed control, many producers have begun post emergence-only (POST) herbicide programs and rely extensively on glyphosate for preplant and POST treatments.
