Brief Project Summary:

There are currently several fertilizer products on the market that promise low salt properties, greater nutrient utilization and better yields compared to conventional fertilizers. Historically, Extension has not supported the use of starter fertilizers placed with soybean seed due to soybeans sensitivity to salt. However, with the increased use of low-salt fertilizers many producers are interested in seeing if the early season benefits for soybeans are similar to corn and sorghum grains.
