Soybean pests in New York State have been generally restricted to weeds, and minor insects, diseases and pests that affect emergence, vegetative and reproductive stages of crop development. Given the limited nature of the pest in the Northeastern U.S., many pests have been controlled, or voided, through an integrated approach based on selecting varieties for the maturity group, disease resistance and commercial commodity attributes and timely implementation of sound agronomic practices including crop rotation.
