Corn earworm/tobacco budworm (CEW/TBW) continues to be North Carolina's most significant insect pest of soybeans. This project will increase soybean profitability for North Carolina growers by developing a threshold for corn earworm in flowering soybeans. Studies that incorporate a record of CEW/TBW number, and that encompass planting dates and earlier maturing beans, as well as full-season and double-cropped beans, are needed to create thresholds that growers can use in the variety of NC growing conditions.
